Tiny Worlds

Kevin Frances sent us some pictures of a charming discovery he made at the Boston Public Library. In his email he said, “Tucked away on an upper floor of the Boston Public Library is a small gallery with dioramas depicting the lives of eleven artists, called Printmakers at Work. It seems that they’ve been on permanent display since being opened in 1966. The labels are peeling a bit, and some of the lights are burned out, but this is an utterly magical, unexpectedly funny little show. The painted backdrops and forced perspective really need to be seen in person to be appreciated.”

someone needs to do a print series on these old dioramas. They are calling for a contemporary response!
