In keeping with their tradition of supporting Democratic causes, famed Los Angeles publisher Gemini G.E.L. has announced a new portfolio with all proceeding going to the Obama re-election campaign. From the press release

Nineteen of this country’s most important and accomplished artists have collaborated with Gemini G.E.L. to create a portfolio of limited edition hand-printed lithographs, etchings and screen prints specifically in support of the President Obama’s re-election campaign. Gemini G.E.L. is one of the foremost publishers and artist workshops for printmaking in contemporary art, and the artists included in the Artists for Obama Portfolio 2012 are: John Baldessari, Jonathan Borofsky, Chris Burden, Frank Gehry, Robert Gober, Ann Hamilton, David Hammons, Jasper Johns, Ellsworth Kelly, Brice Marden, Julie Mehretu, Bruce Nauman, Claes Oldenburg, James Rosenquist, Susan Rothenberg, Ed Ruscha, Richard Serra, Joel Shapiro and Richard Tuttle. This portfolio is being offered in exchange for a $28,000 donation to the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee. There are only 150 portfolios, each signed and numbered, and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Obama campaign and the Democratic National Committee. Over four million dollars is expected to be raised prior to election day.

In 2008, it seemed like half of our posts related to the Obamagraphics phenom or political prints of one sort or another. 2012 has been another story altogether. Hopefully, in the next two months we’ll see an uptick in politically-minded work. Let us know if you see anything noteworthy.
