Philagrafika 2010: Hello World, Are you There? It’s me Space 1026, and I’m Invading the Print Center!

IMG_9068.JPG

This is a photo essay of the Space 1026 Installation at The Print Center for Philagrafika 2010. The real excitement is what happens when a large group of artist with many different modes of working all collaborate on building one all inclusive environment in a few short weeks. I was able to stop by and visit their installation site during the last two weeks of the installation, arguably when the weird stuff starts to happen. At this point the group had been working for weeks on various components of the project, often in small groups finding time after their day jobs ended.

The fabric was made collectively, everyone produced a screen with a pattern or design and the images were overlapped infinitely to make bolts of fabric. The bolts were cut down and the quilting began.s
