Russian Folk Sci-Fi

Speaking of recontextualizing movie posters… here’s Кузнецов Андрей. I can’t decipher the Cyrillic so I know as much about this work as translation software could provide. Which was very little. Maybe a Russian speaking reader can give us some details in the comments section? As it stands, I’m not sure if these are actual woodcuts or faux woodcuts. Either way, they’re a fascinating juxtaposition of an antiquated style with contemporary culture. Here are a few examples and there are more if you follow the link.
